Modular air handling solution that can be tailored to any application. Ideal for hospitals, industry, marine and offshore.
Innovative
Energy efficient
Robust
Tested and certified
HHFlex air handling units have a modular platform design, enabling you to tailor the unit to your project, based on required airflow and specific demands.
The HHFlex is independently tested and fully Eurovent certified. It is engineered with the requirements of hospitals and the pharmaceutical industry in mind, and of course hygiene certified.
The HHFlex is manufactured with high-quality components, including:
Heat recovery systems
Humidifiers
Filters
Heat exchangers (heating and/or cooling)
Sound attenuators
More than 68 sizes are available to cover a range of 1.000 to 125.000 m³/h. Units can be:
Inside or outside
Side-by-side, stacked, vertical or ceiling-mounted
Delivery in sections or flat-packed
The HHFlex air handling unit offers virtually unlimited customization, making it suitable for nearly all applications. It is easy to install, commission, clean and maintain. Reliable technology and sturdy panel and frame construction make the HHFlex a robust unit.
Filters are changed easily and quickly, and the large access doors facilitate easy inspection. High hygienic standards make the HHFlex suitable for health facilities and the pharmaceutical industry. Strong corrosion resistance and ATEX explosion-proofing make the HHFlex suitable for use in marine and offshore, as well as industrial applications.
Rigid panels with 60 mm isolation. Model box results (acc. EN1886):
Thermal bridging class TB2
Thermal insulation class T2
Air leakage class L2
Deflection class D2
Filter bypass class F9
Panels in stainless steel are optional to provide for maximum corrosion resistance.
Both plug fans and centrifugal fans are available. Fan selection is depending on the required flows and pressures.
Various motor types can be selected from IE3 (AC with frequency converter) to IE5 (EC motor with integrated speed control).
Filters can be either slide-in or built-in. Slide-in filters can be changed from the service side of the AHU; built-in filters require access through an inspection section.
Available filter types:
Panel filters
Bag filters
Pleat filters
Carbon (cylinder) filters
HEPA filters
...
The dampers comply with tightness class 3 or higher (acc. EN 1751:2014). The dampers have counter rotating aerodynamically shaped damper blades made of aluminium, which ensure low pressure loss when open.
Damper blades can be coated to provide additional protection.
A rotary heat exchangers provides the heat recovery system with the shortest length. They are available in three variants:
Condensation
Sorption hybrid (hygroscopic)
Sorption
Rotary heat exchangers have an efficiency up to 87%, depending on operating conditions. They recover both heat and moisture.
A plate heat exchanger provides a heat recovery system with separated airflows, preventing transfer of odors and moisture.
Plate heat exchangers are available in two variants:
Cross flow
Counter flow
Both are made of aluminum. Cross flow has an efficiency of up to 85% depending on air speed and unit size; counter flow has an efficiency of up to 90%.
Plate heat exchangers are fitted with a by-pass for capacity control and frost protection. They also come with a built-in sloped drip tray.
Run-around coils, also called twin-coils, provide heat recovery when the two airflows must be kept completely separate, or when the airflows are in different places.
They have an efficiency of up to 80% depending on air speed through the coil.
Heaters are used for heating the supply air and come in four types:
Water coil
DX coil
Steam coil
Electrical heating element
Coils are made of copper tubes and aluminum fins. In case of a water or steam coil, the coil is connected to a heating or steam system. A frost protection thermostat can be mounted.
DX coils are used with heat pumps; in this case refrigerant runs through the heat exchanger.
Electrical heaters are equipped with a safety thermostat and optional power control.
Coolers are used for cooling the supply air and come in two types:
Water coil
DX coil
Coils are made of copper tubes and aluminum fins. In case of a water coil, the coil is connected to a chiller or similar cooling system.
DX coils are used with heat pumps; in this case refrigerant runs through the heat exchanger.
Change-over coils are used for heating or cooling of the supply air. There are two types:
Water coils
DX coils
Coils are made of copper tubes and aluminum fins. In case of a water coil, the coil is connected to a heating and/or cooling system. A frost protection thermostat can be mounted.
DX coils are used with heat pumps; in this case refrigerant runs through the heat exchanger.
A humidifier is used to control the humidity of the supply air. It is made as a complete unit including humidification elements, drip tray and frame made of stainless steel, as well as the "generator" including all accessories. Three humidifiers are available:
Steam
Adiabatic
Infrasonic
The sound attenuator is an absorption attenuator with baffles and reduces the sound power level from the air handling unit to the duct system. The baffles can be taken out for easy (dry or wet) cleaning.
