EX fan designed for use in battery-changing rooms, fume cupboards and other demanding environments where explosive atmospheres can occur.
The fan combines a compact design highly resistant to environmental stressors with a reliable ATEX rated AC motor.
EX fan supplied with preinstalled mounting brackets and premounted terminal box which simplifies installation process on site. Connection kit (accessory) allows to simplify connection to the standard circular ducts.
The EX series is classified as II 2 G Ex db eb h IIB+H₂ T4 Gb.
That means it could be used for hazardous areas within zone 1 and 2 extracting gases and mixes of groups IIA, IIB and also hydrogen (H₂), temperature class T1, T2, T3 and T4.
The casing of EX fans is made from casted silumin alloy. Terminal box integrated to the motor enclosure. Mounting brackets made of galvanized sheet still connected to the motor. Single phase version of the fan also completed with sand-enclosed capacitor.
EX fan uses lightweight single inlet radial impeller with forward curved blades made from aluminium.
EX fans are equipped with voltage controllable, explosion proof AC motors, approved by ATEX. Motor has an integrated cooling impeller.
EX fans have integrated PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) protective circuits with external leads for connection to a motor protection device (separate accessory). We recommend to use UEK230E motor protection, certified according to ATEX directive 2014/34/EU.
The EX can be controlled by reducing voltage via 5-step speed regulator.
Fan can be installed in any position by using preinstalled mounting brackets. In case of installation to the circular duct system we recommend to use dedicated connection kit (additional accessory).

The scroll housing is made out of Silumin. The fan has a compact installation size for an easy assembling. Applicable in battery rooms and storage areas and similar uses. The fan has an impeller with forward- curved blades made out of aluminum. The motor is a maintenance free, certified Ex motor with an internal cooling fan. Thermal protectors (PTC) applied in the motor windings shall be connected to an appropriate protection device. The fan can be speed controlled by transformer based controls. Fan category is BV3 quality grade G6.3, designed for transport of air or explosive atmospheres in Zone 1 and Zone 2. Temperature levels T1, T2, T3 and T4applicable. The complete fan is tested to fulfill the demands in the ATEX directive. The explosion group is equipment protection by flameproof enclosure “d” and by increased safety "e". EU Type Examination Certificate is “Presafe 16 ATEX 8598 X”.
