Supporting a historic town

Diriyah, located on the outskirts of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is a historic town steeped in cultural heritage and famed as the birthplace of the Saudi royal family. Once the capital of the first Saudi state in the 18th century, it boasts traditional mud-brick architecture, with many structures meticulously restored to preserve its legacy and boost tourism At-Turaif, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the original political and cultural hub of the Saudi state, stands as a testament to the distinctive Najdi architectural style and draws visitors eager to explore Saudi Arabia's history.

Today, Diriyah is at the heart of an ambitious initiative to create a world-class tourist destination, seamlessly blending its historical charm with modern attractions. Spearheading this is Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA), mandated to preserve and celebrate historic Diriyah and develop the neigbhorhood into a hub for community, culture and collaboration.

Following the successful completion of two car park projects with DGDA, Systemair has been appointed as the preferred vendor for the car park ventilation system in the King Salman Knowledge District. This endorsement has prompted DGDA to recommend our services to contractors for upcoming projects.

Meeting strict project timelines and ensuring functional design development

Meeting project deadlines was a top priority for the customer, particularly ensuring delivery of long-lead items within a 10-month timeline. Comprehensive design support was critical from inception to completion, along with prompt material delivery, robust technical assistance, and an efficient project management team that excelled in communication and resource allocation.

A dedicated team was assigned to oversee the design stage, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders and swift responses to emerging challenges. This approach streamlined workflows to adhere to tight deadlines, especially as the project transitioned from infrastructure-focused expertise to a new domain in MEP systems. Developing functional car park designs that addressed specific site challenges and integrated advanced technologies was crucial to the project’s success.
