Systemair, a resourceful ventilation partner
From improving the health and well-being of occupants to lowering energy consumption, renovation offers a host of critical benefits for individuals, occupants, and society as a whole. In Europe, the ongoing EU Renovation Wave is partly driven by the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).
Experts in Europe and other countries agree that renovating public and private buildings is the key to increasing energy efficiency in the sector and delivering on environmental and sustainability objectives.
Taking Europe as an example, the EU Renovation Wave presents a golden opportunity for renovation companies since it will require cumulative investments of around EUR 1.2 trillion during 2024-30.
The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), designed to boost the energy efficiency of buildings, was adopted by the European Parliament in March 2023. It was an important step in driving the EU Renovation Wave.
We will be your most efficient and helpful partner in mastering your ventilation renovation challenges.

Systemair has the energy efficient, space-saving solutions you need. Tailored to your project, our innovative HVAC equipment and systems, including air handling units, fans, control systems, and accessories, will not only improve the indoor air quality but also the overall energy performance of the building.
Our air handling unit product ranges include Topvex, Geniox, Sense, Save, Roof Line, and Systemair Fusion. They are designed with flexibility in mind and for easy transportation and installation in limited spaces.
Once installed, the air handling units (AHUs) give high heat recovery with minimum energy consumption.
Systemair AHUs are equipped, where appropriate, with advanced control systems, such as Systemair Access, that ensure maximum operational economy.
Systemair Fans with EC Motors meet and exceed the highest standards in energy efficiency, making them the perfect choice for both retrofits and new installations.

Modernising the ventilation systems of an ancient German castle
Systemair Geniox Air Handling Units were selected for the renovation of Montabaur Castle (built circa 959 AD) in Rhineland Palatinate, Germany.
The exceptional flexibility of the units due was a crucial factor for upgrading the HVAC systems in this historic listed building.
Delivering higher air quality to classrooms
Mengeš Primary School in Slovenia needed to improve the air quality in 10 recently flooded classrooms. A lack of mechanical ventilation was resulting in consistently poor air quality, especially in the chemistry rooms.
Systemair installed 10 Systemair Sense local ventilation units. These keep the fresh air flowing and have significantly improved classroom air quality.
Enhancing ventilation systems to align with BREEAM* standards
Systemair collaborated with Celsius Solutions Ltd, the Anslow Partnership, and developer Oktra on the refurbishment of a 1980s office block at One Portsoken Street. For the 230,000 square feet of office space, Systemair delivered solutions that complied with BREEAM standards, including Geniox AHUs and Topvex False Ceiling units.
*BREEAM is the world-leading sustainability assessment method for the built environment and infrastructure.
Record-breaking upgrade of 1950s residential units
The Nynäsbostäder housing association in Nynäshamn, Sweden estimated that up to SEK 500,000 could be saved annually by upgrading 135 apartments built in the 1950s-1960s with modern, energy efficient HVAC solutions.
New systems were installed utilising Systemair Save Air Handling Units and were in operation four months ahead of schedule.
Upgrading the ventilation system of a cooperative
Systemair MUB EC Fans were chosen to retrofit the ventilation system at the Beckstein winegrowers’ cooperative in Germany.
An old axial belt-driven fan was replaced with two MUB units featuring high-quality EC technology. This boosted motor efficiency to over 90%. Energy savings were a key factor, with the projected 30% reduction achieved in a short period.
Compact Topvex solution improves indoor climate in 1930s apartment building
In early 2023, the Nybroviken Property Association decided to replace the outdated natural duct ventilation system in its apartment building on Nybrogatan with a modern FTX system.
Collaborating with Systemair, HVAC consulting company Franska Bukten selected Topvex Air Handling Units with integrated smoke bypass due to their compact design and energy efficiency.
Systemair LCC is a hands-on online tool based on the acknowledged ASHRAE climate database and widely established calculation methods. It focuses largely on energy costs during an AHU’s use phase, which makes up the majority of an AHU’s LCC. Accessible from any device, the tool offers a number of valuable functions.
